About · Anjoli Aisenbrey, LICSW

You don't come to therapy
because you're unaware.

You come because nothing you've already tried has fully shifted things. You understand your patterns. You can explain why you feel the way you do. And still, the same responses keep showing up.

I'm Anjoli — a licensed therapist specializing in trauma-informed, attachment-based work with individuals and couples. My focus is helping you move beyond understanding into actual, felt change.

You might be thoughtful, capable, outwardly doing well — and still feel internally overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected. Many of my clients have insight into their patterns but haven't experienced the shift they expected. My work focuses on what's underneath that insight — where real change actually lives.

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker · EMDR Trained · Gottman Level 1 Trained

I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over eight years of experience supporting adults through emotional, relational, and identity-level challenges. Originally from British Columbia, Canada, I now work with clients across the United States through virtual therapy.

My work is grounded in attachment, neuroscience, and trauma-informed care, with a focus on EMDR. I primarily support high-functioning individuals who appear capable on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in familiar patterns beneath the surface.

Rather than staying at the level of insight, our work focuses on processing what continues to drive those patterns — so change happens at an emotional level, not just an intellectual one. Together, we slow things down, identify what's underneath, and create space for greater regulation, clarity, and meaningful change.

Who I work with

For people who are doing the work, but still feel stuck.

I primarily work with individuals, and also support couples. My clients tend to be thoughtful, high-functioning, and outwardly successful — and yet something underneath isn't shifting.

Insightful, but still patternedYou understand why you respond the way you do. That understanding hasn't been enough to change the response itself.

Capable on the outsideYou move through your work and your life well. Internally, there's an undercurrent of overwhelm, disconnection, or quiet exhaustion.

Repeating relational patternsThe same dynamics keep showing up — in partnerships, in family, in how you relate to yourself. You're tired of the loop.

Carrying something olderExperiences that still shape how you feel and respond — often outside conscious awareness — that talk therapy alone hasn't fully resolved.

At a point of transitionA relationship shift, a career change, a life moment that's brought older material to the surface and you want to actually move through it.

Ready for depthYou're not looking for advice or coping strategies. You want something structured, relational, and genuinely transformative.

My approach

Insight is the beginning.
It's not the destination.

My work is grounded in attachment, neuroscience, and trauma-informed care, with a focus on EMDR. Rather than relying on a single method, I integrate approaches thoughtfully based on each client's needs — while maintaining a clear focus on deeper processing and meaningful change.

  • 1
Structured & intentionalSessions have a thread. We're not wandering — we're working toward something specific, together.
  • 2
Relational & attunedThe relationship itself is part of the work. I bring warmth, presence, and honest engagement to every session.
  • 3
Beyond the cognitiveWe work with the nervous system, body, and emotional system — not just thoughts and stories.

Trauma-informed, attachment-based

How we learned to relate, regulate, and protect ourselves early on shapes everything downstream. Real change requires working at that level — gently, and with care.

EMDR as a core modality

EMDR helps the brain and body finish processing experiences that continue to drive present-day patterns. It targets the root, not the surface — which is why the change tends to hold.

Integrative

No two clients need the exact same thing. I draw on multiple frameworks and tailor the work to who you are, where you are, and what your system is asking for.

What guides my work

The principles underneath every session.

My work is grounded in safety, depth, and intentional change. These aren't abstract values — they shape how I show up in each session and how we approach the work together.

I
Safety & Attunement

I offer a steady, non-judgmental space where you can feel safe, understood, and supported. Real change begins when your system has the capacity to engage — and that capacity is built relationally, not forced.

II
Self-Trust & Growth

Rather than fixing or directing, I help you strengthen self-trust, clarify what matters, and move toward a more grounded, internally aligned way of being. You already know more than you think — part of the work is learning to hear it.

III
Integrated Healing

I take an integrative approach — combining emotional insight, nervous system awareness, and lived experience to support meaningful, lasting change. Not symptom management. Actual movement.

Credentials & Training

The background behind the work.

I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with over eight years of clinical experience. My EMDR training is through the EMDR Institute — the founding training organization established by Francine Shapiro, the developer of EMDR therapy. I'm also Gottman Method Level 1 trained, which informs my work with couples. Beyond these foundations, I continue to pursue ongoing training in attachment, nervous system regulation, and trauma-focused modalities.
